about me

September 2014

I am returning to the classroom this fall after three years supporting teachers. I am excited to renew my classroom with student-driven, inquiry-based learning. I will be teaching secondary school geography and science at Gordon Graydon Memorial Secondary School. Look for posts on my blog where I will share my journey.

April 2012

I am an Instructional Technology Resource Teacher (ITRT) for the Peel District School Board in Ontario, Canada. This means that I have the opportunity to help teachers from 11 Secondary schools  to find and explore ways to use technology to support students. I’m also into my family, mapping, earth science, dogs and literary time travel.

Prior to starting this position, I taught Geography and Science for 9 years. I integrated technology in lessons and activities from my first day on the job because I found things like GIS and GPS interesting.  Luckily, in many of my classes, students had their own laptops and found technology interesting too!

I thought I knew a thing or two about instructional technology, but I have learned so much from the teachers I work with and the rest of the ITRT team. Every day teachers surprise me with how creative they are and how much they care about students. I look forward to learning from you as well.

Thanks for visiting my blog!   Susan
